Welcome to Fifth Avenue Dental Center. I have been practicing dentistry since 1992. I am a graduate of the University of British Columbia. I am currently involved in numerous study clubs and international programs to enrich my dental knowledge.
I use a dental microscope for all my procedures which provides a magnified view of your teeth. The microscope gives you the best quality for a better end result and lasting durability.
My experience and knowledge can provide you with a painless visit. I use topical anesthetic prior to all injections and have equipment and techniques which will reduce any anxiety.
I use only the best materials in the dental market and our sterilization techniques are strictly followed. My staff have been with me for a long time and we work together to make you feel comfortable as soon as you arrive in the office.
Many of our referrals are from our patients who bring in their families and friends. I invite you to experience our office as a new patient. Call or email us and I look forward to meeting you.
Dr. David A. Monaghan B.Sc D.M.D.
Dr Morris was born in a small town in central Alberta. He graduated from high school in Red Deer and attended Red Deer College (where he played on the volleyball and basketball teams). He received his Bachelor of Science degree and Doctor and Dental Surgery for the University of Alberta.
Dr. Morris's continuing education focused largely on the restoration of complex cases and the placement and restoration of implants.
Dr Morris believes that a person's smile is a window to their soul. Creating smiles for patents brings joy to his heart and a feeling of accomplishment. His passion is to give patients the choice of materials and techniques available today, so they can attain the health and appearance they desire.
Dr. Morris's compassion for the underprivileged has taken him to rural China multiple times to help the poor farmers and teach the local dentists. To help serve there, he and his wife continue to study Chinese.
Dr. Morris has three children, and two grandchildren. He loves being able to bike year round in Vancouver and enjoys nature in and around lower mainland.
The front office staff are here to help you understand the complexity of dental insurance. We also will submit all your insurance electronically so there is no paperwork for you.
Reception strives to find appointment dates which work for your busy schedule. Ask for alternative days and they will find it for you.
Please call or email our office today and have the pleasure of talking to one of our staff that will answer any of your questions.
We have an in house laboratory available for any of your dental needs. Our technician can fabricate anything you need from dentures, crowns, bridges, nightguards or sportsguards. We make the highest quality product that we are sure you will be satisfied with the result.
If we are doing your front teeth we want it to be perfect! Our technician will evaluate your case. Between you, the technician and the dentist we will give the "wow" factor!
We have highly skilled hygienists that will make your cleaning appointment as painless as possible. We evaluate your gums and teeth as well as your soft tissue. The velscope is a new instrument developed by the BC cancer agency which detects areas in your mouth which could potentially become problems in the future if not treated.
Our hygienists are available six days a week and we will try to get you in when it is convenient to your schedule. We book one hour appointments and we usually have you come in every six months for your cleaning and check up with the dentist.
Our certified dental assistants (CDA) are very experienced in the dental field. They will make your dental treatment comfortable . Many of our long time patients feel relaxed as soon as they see Marj who has been at fifth avenue since it opened 15 years ago.
Usually when your child come in for their first visits the CDA will be the one cleaning their teeth. The child moves on to the hygienist when all their adult teeth in their mouth.
